Paul and Bonnie Vogel established QSI in 1997. Paul, whose first job was pulling orders on the Los Angeles 9th Street Produce Market in 1981, and Bonnie, who grew up on a family farm, believed they could create a successful distribution company driven by their values. Their focus on quality, honesty and service has allowed the company to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers alike.
Everything they do, and the entire QSI team does is in service to the deeply held belief that the Los Angeles produce market lives and breathes at the crossroads of “The Greatest Grow on Earth.”
We believe in long term relationships and that a successful transaction provides value to all parties. If you stand in the second story parking lot of our location near the corner of Central and Olympic with Paul, he will tell you to look out at the City of Los Angeles and try to imagine what it looked like when it was a landscape of cattle and orange groves, not buildings and streets. He will tell you that the roots of agriculture and produce distribution run deep in Los Angeles as do change and innovation driven by the diversity of the people who live here.
Since opening in 1997, QSI has respected this history, continuing to grow its markets, staffing, storage and distribution facilities; evolving to always best serve the needs of its customers and suppliers.
